Does anyone remember the little flip-top head guy from the old Reach toothbrush commercials?
Every once in a while I'll make a joke about how much easier my job would be if my patients had flip-top heads, but 95% of the time I just get weird looks. Apparently nobody remembers him.
Don't you hate it when that happens? You think you say something really clever, but all you get is silence.
Well several years ago (probably during a long road-trip, I can't exactly recall), my sister and I discovered a way to guarantee laughter at even your un-funniest jokes, and it actually involves this little Reach guy.
Simply follow these steps and you will be entertaining your friends in no time!
Step 1: Submit witty commentary
No one laughs
Step 2: Repeat witty commentary at a slightly louder volume (they may not have heard you the first time).
Still no laughter, and possibly a couple of odd looks
Step 3: Repeat witty commentary at a VERY LOUD VOLUME, then throw your head back as though it were a flip-top, and release a hearty laugh.
Enjoy raucous laughter from all members of your audience, and pat yourself on the back. Job well done.
Trust me, they're laughing with you.
